I liked this book because it teaches you a lessen and it teaches you how to make a comic。 Its and funny。 I didn't like that you didn't find out what the little frogs were until the end of the book。 I would recommend this book and any book by this author。 I liked this book because it teaches you a lessen and it teaches you how to make a comic。 Its and funny。 I didn't like that you didn't find out what the little frogs were until the end of the book。 I would recommend this book and any book by this author。 。。。more
Holly Letson,
Some of the comics are hilarious。
TARA,
My son loves the Dog Man books and Cat Kid has a very similar vibe。 He laughed at the short comics within the book and we both enjoyed reading it together。

Dav Pilkey’s books are always a hit with the kids and his Dog Man series is some of his best。 In this Dog Man spin-off series Lil’Petey and Molly talk about how to make comics with Flippy’s adopted tadpole children。 Many of them have a hard time making comics at fist (fear of failure, not having ideas, not drawing well, etc), so Lil’Petey and Molly’s give a series of advice to help inspire them。 This books focus is creativity and inspiration。 It has a lot of good messages that are easily underst Dav Pilkey’s books are always a hit with the kids and his Dog Man series is some of his best。 In this Dog Man spin-off series Lil’Petey and Molly talk about how to make comics with Flippy’s adopted tadpole children。 Many of them have a hard time making comics at fist (fear of failure, not having ideas, not drawing well, etc), so Lil’Petey and Molly’s give a series of advice to help inspire them。 This books focus is creativity and inspiration。 It has a lot of good messages that are easily understood by your little ones。 It’s like Scott McCloud for children, this book will not only inspire your kids, but there’s a lot for adults to take away as well。 It’s also more from Dav Pilkey so how can you go wrong with that? I’m certainly looking forward to more Cat Kid Comic Club in the future! 。。。more

Spencer Orey,
My kid loves Dog Man and Captain Underpants。 I can enjoy those but I think I like this book more? It's all the psychic tadpoles from the recent Dog Man books learning from Lil Petey how to draw comics and not worry that what they make might be bad。 Really sweet book overall, with good creative encouragement, and it made my kid laugh a lot。 My kid loves Dog Man and Captain Underpants。 I can enjoy those but I think I like this book more? Mary Pimbblet,
This is brilliant。 I read it before I handed it over to my eight year old daughter, and I actually laughed out loud at some of it。 Yes, there is a lot of complicated vocabulary for an eight year old, but she still read it and enjoyed it。 I can’t think of any other book that introduces children to haikus in such an engaging way。 Simply brilliant。
Melody,
Really clever。
Bashier Elshaikh,
This is a good book😋😋😋
Nicola,
We love Dog Man and Cat Kid and Dav Pilkey。 His books are a big hit in our proudly neurodivergent household and a great encouragement to draw - from the step by step instructions, to the reassurance that broccoli trees are just fine。 Having the reassurance that everyone can find a new skill hard at first or feel lost for inspiration is powerful。 For kids that struggle with anxiety and an innate drive for perfectionism, it is really free-ing to tell themselves that they can set out to fail, that We love Dog Man and Cat Kid and Dav Pilkey。 His books are a big hit in our proudly neurodivergent household and a great encouragement to draw - from the step by step instructions, to the reassurance that broccoli trees are just fine。 Having the reassurance that everyone can find a new skill hard at first or feel lost for inspiration is powerful。 For kids that struggle with anxiety and an innate drive for perfectionism, it is really free-ing to tell themselves that they can set out to fail, that they can have fun, that they can draw the world's most silly and outrageous and worst comic ever and that it's ok。 It's okay if their output doesn't match the amazing ideas and images in their minds。 That it's okay to edit and to improve over time。 That it's okay if their comics don't look exactly the same as a professional artist。 Also, that media also doesn't have to be drawn - maybe it uses photos or digital art etc。Miss 6 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes。 We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors。 。。。more
Aryssa,
This was actually super cute! Perfect for fans of Dog Man and Capt Underpants, obviously, but also has a GREAT message all the Pilkey haters should read about how humor is different for every age and kids deserve jokes too, because yes Shakespeare wrote fart jokes
Nonni,
I loved it!

John Stanczak,
For Dav Pilkey It was good although it ‘‘twas a little hard to understand。 But I learned a few lessons that I think are good for all ages。It’s okay to fail。
Jordan,
Funny and pretty well written。 Would recommend🙂
Anthony,
Lil Petey, Flippy, and Molly hold their first meeting of the Cat Kid Comic Club with twenty-one baby frogs as members。 Lil Petey, AKA Cat Kid, and crew try to help the members draw comic books, but are having a challenging time convincing the frogs that they can do it。 With multiply comics within this story, Dav Pilkey once again displays friendship, and tolerance as a theme throughout this witty and funny read。
Henry Lambert,
love it
Heidi,
The kids loved this and were super inspired and wanted to spend all weekend making their own books。
